Pattaya's Loi Krathong Festival 2000 & Krathong Making (below)
| Loi Krathong, the elegantly beautiful annual Festival of Light is held during the full moon in November. It features the launching of traditional floats (Krathongs) and exhibitions of local handicrafts, as well as an array of other fun activities. It is believed that the Loi Krathong Festival originated in Sukhothai, the first Thai capital.

Making A Krathong

Things You NeedYou will need banana tree leaves and trunk sections, assorted flowers, pins, incense, candles, patience and a Thai teacher. Although styrofoam has more flotation the banana tree sections are much better for the environment. |
| Fold And AttachBanana leaves are folded and pinned to the outside & top of the banana tree sections. | |

| Time To Let GoDown to the temple to let our Krathongs go. By tradition the Krathongs is for the following: to give thanks to the water and say sorry for using it, our bad luck is placed in the Krathong to be floated away and we wish we will have good luck for the coming year. | |
